Pippa Buckingham frequently gets frustrated and distressed easily. Pippa was told to find Julie, her sister, but Pippa can't find her. She was distressed because there is a fire. She runs back to her mom and dad. “'Dad,' she cried. 'I can't find Julie.' 'Don't you understand?' she cried. ' I can't find her. I can't find her and there's a fire. She's lost and there's a fire.'” (Southall, 73) Pippa was frustrated with her mom and dad for not worrying about her sister. Pippa was worried that Julie might have been down a mine hole, or caught up in the blackberry thorns, or being attacked by a wild bush cat. That's why she is bothered when she sees that Julie is really at Grandpa Tanners. She was annoyed and happy that Julie was at Grandpa Tanners.
