Paper Towns

One of the stories that I chose to read this summer was paper Towns, by John Green. The story’s genre is drama. the lesson in this book was that people have layers. They are not paper. The story takes place in an area called Jefferson park, somewhere near Orlando, Florida.

One of the main characters of the story is Quentin, who’s last name is not mentioned in the story. Quentin is a teenage boy. Also, Margo Roth Spiegelman. Margo is a young, adventurous teenage girl who loves taking risks. Quentin has been in love with Margo since they were small children, when Margo moved in across the street. The two were really good friends but as they got older, grew apart.

In the early spring of 1781, Lord Charles Cornwallis led the British Army to the Guilford Courthouse to face the colonial militia and their general, Nathanael Greene. Greene knew of the British Army’s advancements and had set up three lines of defense to fight the British, whose army was under half the size and was weary from traveling. The three lines of defense ended up dividing the militia into smaller sections the British Army could take on, causing the Continental Army to lose the battle. “The Battle of Guilford Courthouse” plaque in the Visitor Center of the park depicts the American general’s main goal for dividing his men by stating, “Greene’s plan threw away the overwhelming American advantage of numbers … intent on crippling—rather…

(Archives) Though he is remembered now as a military general, a significant portion of his success can be attributed to his political background. The character I chose to introduce to you is Ben because he is the main character in the book. In the book, Ben goes through many changes and faces many obstacles and situations. Ben moved to Edenboro, Massachusetts from Tucson, Arizona four months before the book takes place and doesn’t like it there, but he slowly begins to think of Edenboro as his home. He finds animals very interesting. Ben is also a kind and friendly person because it states on page 175 to 176 that Ben screams at Frankie to leave Ryan alone and goes to Ryan’s birthday party instead of working on his report since Agatha told him that he and Jenny were Ryan’s only friends.…

Paperboy Review The book Paperboy, by Vince Vawter, tells the story of a boy, nicknamed “little man”, who takes his friend’s paper route while he is with his grandparents on their farm. “little man” does not normally talk to many people due to his speech impediment. This makes it difficult for him to get his thoughts out as well as have a normal conversation. As he is filling in for his friend he meets many people, some of which are interested in what he has to say which is surprising because he has never had anyone interested in what he had to say because of his stutter and he was just a kid.…

The mood in Paper Towns is very adventurous. Throughout the novel the reader can see multiple times where adventure is the source in the character’s energy. The story of the Disney Short Story: Paper Man produced by Kristina Reed and directed by John Kahrs, show both form and content in a quality six-minute and thirty-three second short film. The idea of the film was a bold, yet well designed. The film’s making was complex because it was all hand drawn and it lacks dialogue between anyone during the film, yet it was still about to get its many points and messages out. The man, also known as the “Paper Man” in the film uses the paper to overcome contradiction by throwing paper airplanes at the one he has found love with at first sight. The paper seems to have a consistent role in the entire film.…
