This is actually a good question! Personally, I will share with my wife, friends and family members before I share with my boss or co-workers. I make that statement because of the line of work I am in. My field of work does not require any writing skills yet it does require reading skills. When I say reading skills I am referring to reading blueprints of symbols and abbreviations rather than words. I am a welder and we have to read blueprints in order to put a part together and weld it accordingly. However, my wife is in school as well so for me to discuss writing skills or any academics; would be right up her alley and she would be intrigued and learn from it. One writing tip I discuss with her often is going back and rereading her essay. She loves to write yet hates to reread it to make sure it makes sense. When it comes to my writing skills I utilize the tip of reading my work out loud so I can catch any errors that I may have caused. (Chambers, 2014) I enjoy learning about speaking skills the most. I thought my speaking skills were good yet I am constantly learning more and it is actually fun. I often find myself combining speaking and writing together. You captivated a current event such as text-talk as an example of how bad grammar is becoming more and more frequent due to cell phone use. I can honestly say that I fall victim to this issue and have to catch myself when it comes to writing formal documents.I admire your goals and efforts on wanting to pass on the knowledge of prestige writing ethics to your daughter. Leading by example is very important when it comes to an impressionable child. I also can see how proper grammar is detrimental to your everyday life.
