Media bias is the bias in journalism and news production for the mass media inside selections of cases and stories and how they are addressed. Media bias can be found anywhere in the media related to very controversial topics such as, abortion, gun control, and majorly in politics. This is nothing new but what is new the shameless ways of blurring/nudging the truth in line with marketing. The blurring of truth hinders the average consumers mind and blurs all the facts and different perspectives to only the side the consumer has read/watched.
To understand if what you are tuning into or what you are reading is bias to something in particular then you must understand all the different types of biases that occur in the media. The biases in media include bias by omission, selection of sources, story selection, placement, spin, and labeling. Bias by omission is not

Absolutely, media bias affects the average consumer and has such a strong claim that is backed up by science. Newspapers, television, radio and online media are extremely influential, especially over consumers’ political views. Media bias really does change political views so significantly that there is no doubt it has important and largely unrecognized consequences. One consequence being that media bias actually affects how people judge media bias itself. For example, if the media report with a liberal bias, then this causes us to think more liberally. In turn, thinking more liberally causes us to prefer more liberal news, which makes us less able to detect the bias. Despite all the discussion about media bias, though, almost no one seems to have recognized the diminishing of bias awareness. It’s time for the public to understand that media bias is more significant, complex and pernicious than realized. If media bias were to disappear, according to the analysis, then America would think and vote without the biases from Fox news and other news outlets that are pushing their own
