The Panhandle plains
The Panhandle plain is situated in the northernmost of Texas State. This major Texan geographical feature spans about 81,500 square meters. The feature is narrow and straight forming the shape of a pan. The Panhandle is majorly covered in grassland, plain and some areas flat. In other cases, the Panhandle plains is referred to as the ‘Staked Plains’ or Llano Estacado. The Panhandle is majorly treeless. The land is situated in a high flat plateau. However, the eastern part of the Panhandle is not really flat. The eastern side forms a lower elevation referred to as a rolling plain. The eastern side of the Panhandle receives more rainfall, therefore, more brushy (Texas Parks & Wildlife Department).
The eastern and western areas of the Texan Panhandle are significantly portioned into profound canyons. The canyons are also carved by fast flowing rivers and tributaries which snake their way through the area.
