In Greek Mythology Pandora was the first women sent from the gods to mankind. According to Edith Hamilton’s book on mythology Zeus created her and he let all the god’s giver gifts which is why the gods named her Pandora. Pandora means “the gift of all”. (pg.70) She was said to beautiful and lovely but with a destiny to fulfill. When she was sent to Prometheus’s brother Epimetheus who accepted her. Pandora ended up marring Epimetheus and having a daughter named Pyrrha. (Cartwright) Her symbol is pithos jar. It is said that Pandora was created out of the rage of Zeus. When Prometheus carried so much for man he went to great lengths to deceive the gods. Which made Zeus furious, so in retaliation Pandora was created. She was given gifts by all
