Communications was one of the key concepts that we worked on. A lot of us were confused, and only one of our members truly understood the game. He was able to clarify questions and this allowed all of us to get the chance to give our input. This confusion allowed all of us to cooperate because we realized that we all had to work as a team to win, rather than actually having to compete against each other. I was definitely intimidated towards the beginning when our professor was explaining the directions to the class along with describing all the complex rules and regulations. As a team, there was no doubt that we struggled to figure out what exactly our approach to the game was and what our strategy to execute. There was so much information that we needed to retain from reading the directions that it often times lagged the flow of the game. We constantly had to research specific instructions online or watch tutorials that would give us a little more direction. In general, Pandemic was a game that challenged us to work together and find solutions to something that we had absolutely no knowledge of. It forced us to communicate with one another because the game required every member to participate and contribute in some way.
