Panda Ants: A Short Story

She'll always say she had a mother and and father with two younger brother. That they all lived on small and cozy neighborhood. Her mother was a doctor and her father was a stay at home dad. This is however, not true. Ophelia ran away from her foster home around the age of 12. Her mother was around 70 years old when Ophelia was born. Panda ants have a hard time finding a mate and rarely ever do, of there own species anyways. Because of her mother's age, her mother died in child birth. The father was just a distance donor from another planet and was keep anonymous to anybody expect her mother. The hopes of a family died with her mother.

Shortly after her birth, she was given to a over-crowded foster home. Elia tried her best to stick out from the crowd but in reality it just made things worst. Being "home-schooled" and stuck in small house, she tried to find some comfort with her foster dad's garage. See, her foster dad was a musician that worked at a local pub. When he was out at his day job, she would break in and toy with all his knick-knacks. She loved making music and getting her antennas on anything this guy got.

The girl was pretty shy and extremely reclusive to any of the kids there. Expect Ophelia though. She would follow Elia to the shed and listen to the tone-deaf ant trying to make music. It took a while but she introduced herself and Ophelia was excited to have an actually friend. On her 12th birthday, her friend made her a painting. To Elia, it was the most beautiful things she has ever laid her eyes on. For some reason, Ophelia's heart starts to beat harder with her cheeks getting a flushed shade of blue. She never noticed how cute and sweet her friend really was. Something ticked inside her as she gave her best friend a soft kiss on her lips. Elia was next met with a scream and a pillow in her face.
