Accordingly, the evidence, structure, and thesis of the argument should uphold a level of both professionalism and pragmatism in supporting the argument. While Coates’ supports his arguments with facets from the physical, economic, social, and political aspects of injustice with according evidence, the lack of cohesiveness from the text weakens the aptitude of the argument. Between 11:09 AM and 12:12 PM, the brightly lit, eight-tile hallways of Center High School are littered with students sitting cross-legged while a pair of white, Apple headphones protrude from their ears. In addition, the student’s faces almost look as if the grim reaper has stolen their soul and locked it in a gloomy closet only to be released after 12:12 PM. Students have always plagued the CHS hallways; however, the number has increased dramatically this school year. CHS students simply lack engagement during flex lunch. The disappearance of clubs, or the lack thereof, is one factor that considerably hinders student involvement during flex lunch.…

The Wild Bunch covers, no doubt, a whole variety and mix of genres and sub-genres. As anyone could make an argument for which genre they think is dominant in, “The Wild Bunch” (e.g. crime drama, romance, thriller, drug movie, dark comedy, etc.). The cinematic clues I’ve based my decision on is a subgenre of film known as the "Revisionist Western”. I’m sure you are asking yourself; how does this film that I chose enact the genre it is supposed to represent and how does it subvert it?…

Every day of orientation we were told to be wary the cookies in the cafeteria, we were warned that they were the whole reason for the “freshman 15,” and that we should stay away. It became pretty clear that the whole school seems to be in love with the cafeteria’s cookies, but why? It seems to me that the student body loves these cookies not only because they are delicious, but also because of the memories that they remind people of when they eat them. Most people have fond memories of baking, decorating, and eating cookies with their family members, whether for the holidays or just for fun. As a result, most people have deep rooted appreciation for cookies along with the warmth and happiness that they bring around.…

After reviewing the reading rockets website, I found that the 5 components of beginning English reading are phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary development, reading fluency, including oral reading skills and reading comprehension strategies. Beth Antunez, author of English Language Learners and the Five Essential Components of Reading Instruction, says using these 5 components teachers can really reach their students who struggle with English reading development. The first component of the 5 is phonemic awareness. Phonemic awareness is the ability to identify and manipulate phonemes in spoken words says author Beth Antunez.
