This poem seems like it would be explaining a normal morning for a little boy, but this poem has a deeper meaning. For example in the poem it says “with cracked hands that ached from labor in the weekday weather made banked fires blaze” is an example of symbolism because almost everyone can view the quote as when they are tired from the weeks work there are things that they still need to take care of and they do those things to help themselves or others.
