Palm Beach Atlantic: Legal Case Study

Palm Beach Atlantic has decided to define sexual battery, according to the state’s legal definition. The state of Florida defines sexual battery as unwanted penetration.

Sexual misconduct between students, faculty, and staff on or off campus is not tolerated. It is expected that neither students nor faculty will engage in nor promote sexual conduct that does not meet biblical standards. All students and staff are mandated to report any sexual misconduct.

Although other institutions have chosen to define sexual battery broadly PBA chose to stick with the legal definition. Had another definition been chosen it would have not complied with the state. Unwelcome sexual acts, requests for sexual favor and/or sexual physical content are sexual
