Paleoecologist studies the layers of the sedimentary rocks. They interpret what kind of environment the dinosaur lived in. In addition, depending on what type of soil and sedimentary process determines what kind of habitat a dinosaur lived. Uniformitarianism interprets the similarity of the past and modern living conditions of a dinosaur.
