Starting something new can potentially be a bit scary. A new house, a new car, job, etc. These all offer their adjustment periods and stressors, believe me, I get. I’d be dishonest if I didn’t say that diets, whether it be struggling with a bad diet currently, or considering which one to adopt, is a unique stress because it constantly stays with you. You’re constantly aware of your body, even if you don’t see it directly. Not long after the end of the fall semester of my junior year in college, after I received a middling medical exam that revealed an unhealthy ‘good’ to ‘bad’ ratio of cholesterol, I felt a powerful sense of anxiety and dread for the future; I needed to change.

2. You Don’t Need To Run Extensive Cardio Everyday
Even before I started working on doing any kind of diet in earnest, I was a big fan of cardio. Almost every day, I would devote 15 to 30 or so minutes walking outside, breaking into a good sweat. When I did start the diet, I became convinced that I would have to run even more than I already had in order to burn the excess calories. But, while I did maintain a healthy, non-sedentary lifestyle after starting the low carb Paleo diet, I didn’t need to work out nearly as much. All you’ll really need for the results you want is to stick to the diet.

What I kept in mind, and so can you:
You’re probably thinking that it would be a stretch to gain most of the results just by following the eating requirements, but it works! First, you focus on eating lean cuts of meat, healthy fats like coconut oil, or eggs, plus a very generous serving of green or other low carb vegetables, while remembering to do daily 16-hour intermittent fasting after eating two or three meals for the first two weeks. Do that and you could possibly lose between 2 and 6 lbs a month after the initial two weeks! The low carb diet, while quite restrictive and not without side effects, such as crankiness, tiredness, and headaches, can give you these kinds of results if you’re willing to put all of yourself into

While I never bothered to pony up the money for a gym membership before and after I started my diet, many people do. While gym memberships can be useful for people who wish to be very serious about getting into athletic shape, it’s not as extensively needed as you might think. Most of the fat burning and calorie loss involved in the paleo diet simply involves eating natural, low carb foods and waiting long enough between meals (in the range of 16 to 24 hours), so that your body enters ketosis, where the body’s fat storages are burned.
