In the story, there are several broken families. There are moments when Cecilia is faced with decions such as; should she send people off to war when their families would suffer? Pondering the decision Cecilia thinks about how she wants to just stop the war. She claims she just wants to declare it over. These decisions lead the reader to think about the consequences that the decision would create. If she just stopped the war, would it be that simple? Another event that leads to deep thinking, is the ending when the realization that there is more than one true princess. This resolve in the end of the book leads to the curiosity of the other lives. This leaves the reader with questions about the other girls. Questions such as; what was the queen thinking? Another question such as is this wrong?
