If two horses were standing next to each other and were completely identical, except for a tiny white marking on one horse’s side, you would likely make the assumption that they were worth similar amounts of money. However, this is typically not the case in the Paint Horse industry. Due to rules put into place by the American Paint Horse Association, or APHA, only two square inches of white coloring can change the value of a horse dramatically. Solid Paint Breds, or horses that do not have two square inches or more of white on their bodies within specific boundaries, have a much lower demand in the industry than Regular Registry horses, or those who do have the required amounts of white. These markings, according the the APHA Rule Book, must be behind a line that runs from…

I would ask Dynamic Duo’s owners if they have the OSHA guidelines and safety requirements posted throughout the facility in a centralized place in which employees congregate so that employees can easily and quickly refer to these guidelines on a daily basis. Furthermore, I would want to ask if they are in compliance with OSHA guidelines and if their standard operating manuals and training manuals entail the proper guidelines to be used by staff members. It is imperative that Dynamic Duo’s owners take the first step of providing all employees with information regarding the hazards they could be potentially exposed too. This is something the company is required to know under the right to know" law.…

If the company goes to all the work to create a safety program and write JHA’s then everyone should be made aware of what potential hazards he/ she may face and how to eliminate or reduce the risk of injury and/ or illness. OSHA also have strict guidelines that must be followed for training, so the company needs to have a competent and knowledge trainer for each class. I would recommend look at getting a safety firm to come in and do an annual training that over the basic OSHA requirements and then they firm can also come back and teach on specific topics in regards to specific jobs such as: forklift training, confined space training, or OHSA 10 hour classes. It is important that everyone understand the need for a safe work environment and that everyone understand that training is the only way for everyone to be made aware of these problems. Another good idea in terms of training, is have the training be conducted on an annual basis unless otherwise stated in OSHA guidelines.…

In the United States employers are required by law to provide and ensure that their employees have safe working conditions. As a part of this intervention they must have a comprehensive safety program in place regardless of the level of danger involved in the job. Some Fortune 500 companies rate safety programs as one of the most important aspects of their success. Overall safety measures in the workplace accomplish primarily two purposes in two central ways: one focusing on unsafe employee actions and the other on unsafe working conditions.
