Health Promotion: Medical Marijuana for Pain Management What is pain management? According to Spine-Health online, pain management is a medical approach that draws on disciplines in science and alternative healing to study the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of pain. The most common treatment for pain management is prescription narcotics and opioids that have many adverse and harmful side effects and warnings that accompany the use of those medications. What if there were a safer, natural, less harmful way to treat moderate to debilitating pain that is a result of several different symptoms and diseases? This presentation will explore the world of medical marijuana for pain management, more specifically pain that is associated with fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis. Opposed to using narcotics and opioids to treat and maintain pain management at a comfortable level.
