My top two priorities for this patient would being with discussing with the patient on what his acceptable pain management goals would be and to work closely with the patient physician and the patient to monitor the effects of the pain medication, to ensure that these goal are getting met. My next concern would be to monitor for complication of his surgery, such as, bleeding, thromboembolism, infection, heart failure, hypertension, dysrhythmias, hemolysis, and any mechanical obstruction of the value (Hinkle & Cheever, 2014). …show more content…
