Gone are the days when people used hot water bottles or warmed bricks to help add warmth to the bed, especially during those winter months. Owing to technology, it is very easy to cover your bed with bed sheets and turn on your electric mattress pad for that much requisite warmth. An electric mattress pad is the opposite of an electric blanket in that the blanket typically provides heat above the body whilst an electric mattress pad provides heat beneath the body.
Some people who tend to feel extremely cold all night long leave the electric mattress pad on all night while others simply preheat the bed before jumping in. Initially, electric mattress pads were uncomfortable since one had to be contended with the wires in the pads. While some
