With technological advancements such as these, it is easier for the consumer to obtain “yucky” packaged foods. Packaged foods are approximated to be “78% of store base food expenditures” (Americans buying...). Places like Sam’s Club, Walmart, Dollar General, 7-Elevens, and local convenience stores make this process of buying packaged foods that much easier. Not all packaged foods are unhealthy, however the majority of packaged foods are. Eating healthy foods are not top priority for citizens; instead eating food such as chips and candy bars that they can find at their local convenience stores are top priority, said Justin Moed (Weidenbener). Even when people in these place do obtain fresh foods, they take those fresh foods and make them unhealthy by adding a bucket of grease to it even though they say it is their southern traditions; but it does not take away the fact that they take good fresh food and fry it.
