It’s 1848, Captain Horatio Dobbs and his whaling ship Princess a scouring the Pacific Ocean in search of the elusive Sperm Whale, his crew has been on a fruitless voyage for several months, not a whale in sight the reserves are running low and the ship has to make port to restock on rations. Suddenly, out of the vast blue expanse, an explosion of water, the Princess had stumbled upon a pod of Pacific Sperm Whales within minutes the small whaling boats a launched leaving only a skeleton crew on the Princess, one of these boats contained green hand Caleb Nye, the newest member of the crew of the Princess, they paddled toward the pod and select a target. Two men quickly hurl their harpoons toward the whale, each makes perfect contact with the …show more content…
The remaining crew stabilizes the boat and as the whale swims towards them for a final charge, they plunge a spear directly into the whale’s heart, ending the wild fiasco. After the whaling boats had returned to the Princess the crew began to harvest the whale’s blubber and search for amber gris in the stomach and intestinal tract, on of the whales is sliced open and the crew is shocked to find, young Caleb Nye inside its stomach. He is pulled from the carcass and cleaned, his hair and skin bleached from the acid in the whale’s stomach. the crew makes port on the island of Pohnpei, and after receiving the news that a mysterious illness has broken out on the island the Princess begins its long voyage …show more content…
The man who took over the lab and captured Joe and Kurt, Mr. Phelps, several days earlier enters the cabin. Joe convinces him to change sides as the virus that the Pyramid Triad released on China will spread to Shanghai and Beijing in a matter of days and then to the rest of the world. Phelps, fearing for the lives of his family agrees to cooperate. They are ordered by one of the three heads of the chinese Pyramid Triad, Chang, to dive down to the lab and prepare it for him to arrive and check on the progress of the vaccine. Phelps and Joe plot to deceive the leader when he comes to visit.
Upon entering the lab, Joe and Phelps discover that the vaccine is completed and that the leader is coming to the lab to collect the completed vaccine and the bacteria cultures to produce it. Phelps, Joe and the assistant director of the lab Lois Mitchell develop a plan to evacuate the scientists from the lab before Chang could destroy the lab and everyone inside. Kurt Austin arrives at the lab just in time to assist Joe, Phelps, and Lois in the plot to destroy the Pyramid Triad’s plans to take over the Chinese
