I believe that the various color differences of the Pacific leaping blennies are selected naturally to go with the background of their environments. I believe that this is only way the blennies can defend themselves against the variety of predators in the different habitats. I also agree that the Pacific leaping blennies can only inhabit environments that contain a lot of predators if they have a successful approach to handle the predators. I agree with this statement because if the blennies’ approach to the predators was not successful then they would not be able to efficiently inhabit the areas in which they desire to live. Lastly, I agree that another way for the fish to survive in an area with predator infestation is if they are able to go through fast changes in their phenotypes that could potentially decrease contact with predators.
