Pacf 200 Public Service And Policy In The 21st Century Analysis

Decent Essays
I am currently taking PAF 200: Public Service & Policy in the 21st Century course. Every class meeting requires reading multiple articles expressing the current issue in Arizona politics and the policy impact that comes along with it.

Additionally, USL 210: Service Learning Introduction to Community Issues also prepared me for themes that may arise. Many community issues and solutions, such as immigration and sexuality, were discussed

Last but not least ENG 301: Writing for the Professionals was another significant course taken in preparation for my career. Being a college student and working at general entry jobs, I did not know much about how to communicate professionally in a real world.

Unbeknownst to me, the requirements of the Project Management Certificate Program had a fair amount of formal writing, which has prepared me for the curriculum ahead. These examples of my journey reflect not only the life choices I have made, but the opportunities’ I have seized upon to personally grow. In conclusion, I would say that I have experienced three defined sources of literacy sponsorship, which have contributed to my preparedness as a college writer. These being supervisors and peers at work, my college professors, and finally challenging writers I have…

As a first year I found myself being one of the youngest if not the youngest one in ASAM 230. Although most of the students in ASAM 230 were seniors, this course would be most helpful to students in their second or third year of college. The assignments we are asked to read, write and discuss in class are directed to help students recognize their interests. For example, reading about Community-Based organizations and becoming more knowledgeable on how they are coordinated can be essential to a student who is still trying to decipher what they want to do with their college career. Most importantly the paper, What Matters to Me and Why?, is the epitome of ASAM 230 as we are able to connect our experiences in service learning and are able to apply…

While attending the Community Board meeting that focused on youth and education, the community was able to express their concerns with local programs and educational issues in a receptive forum. The topic of education was not limited to just schooling, as discussions involving youth leadership program updates, LGBT needs, and family workshops took place as well. The leadership program being discussed provided jobs to youth and included teachers and parents in improving the physical environment of East Harlem. The community members present thought it was important to let the youth who were involved in the program be given the chance to choose their own projects. The discussion about the status of the educational facilities proved that the education…

Writing was not a subject that held my interest in high school. Throughout the last twelve years I have found myself having to write letters, proposals, and business correspondence for my employers. I would complete the assignment and move on to the next task. Deciding to further my education I enrolled in Daytona State College and my first class was your ENC 1101. I have seen a change in my pre-class writing style; I have honed my skills, and the different techniques I have learned while taking this course have only improved my writing style.…

Final Portfolio Cover Letter I have always enjoyed writing so I feel like classes such as these help me more than others. Before I finish college I hope to take some sort of creative writing class as I feel as I haven’t given that opportunity much in recent years amidst constant essays on topic that I do not care about. As a writer I believe my biggest strength is that when I start writing I can keep writing almost until I have run out of things to write about or am interrupted for some reason. I also feel as though I’m very good at writing about things I am passionate about and if I care about a topic you will be able to clearly tell when reading what I wrote.…

Coming into this course, I really didn 't know what to expect. Sociology is something that I’ve always known about, but never really paid much attention to. A writing experience that has stood out the most for me was when I was a sophomore in High School. There was a girl in my class who I wasn't so fond of who one day decided to announce to everyone that she had begun to write her own stories. She showed everyone pieces of her writings expecting to get nothing but compliments and be to deemed the class writer, but when she finally showed me her work I cringed at how deplorable it was. The stories had no clear perspective of whether it was written in first person or third person view, some of the simplest of words were spelled wrong, and many words were used in the wrong context. The class didn't seem to care for her stories so they just gave standard responses with no words for…
