Even more so because Mark is still under the age of 18 which is the age when you can start properly diagnosing someone with mental diseases. So this will be a very loose diagnosis. There is a certified test called the
PCL-R (Psychopathy Checklist Revised) to help asses the presence of psychopathy in people. When filling this out using Mark’s personality and actions in the book as a guide he scored 34 which is high enough (over 30) to be considered a functioning psychopath. The test however does not tell us what type. The different types are a high functioning psychopath which is a psychopath

The novel Bump & Run by Mike Lupica is closely linked to the chapter “... Or the Bible” in the book How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster. The chapter from How to Read Literature Like a Professor discusses how biblical stories can be shown through modern stories. In Bump & Run, Jack Molloy, the main character, faces many challenges that resemble the battle between David and Goliath from the Old Testament in the Bible. Jack’s main enemy is greed and he overcomes many obstacles, including jealous employees, unfocused football players, and wealthy football team owners. Molloy mirrors David as he becomes triumphant at the end of the football season just like how David defeated Goliath.…

Recitatif is the story of two young girls Twyla and Roberta that grow up in an orphanage together. When the girls first met, they knew they were different from one another, but they didn’t let it affect their friendship. As time time passed their life evolved in different direction some of the driving force for the difference were structure, time and period all work together to create the overall theme of this story, which I feel is race and superiority. We can tell that by the way the two girls acted in similar situations that Roberta seemed to have had a better home life than Twyla who felt that Thanksgiving was hot mashed potatoes and two weenies. As previously mentioned, individuals with SPD are likely to enter remission over time. Research found that many individuals with SPD are found to have low self-esteem when it comes to identifying if they have status and wealth and successful intimate relationships (Ullrich et al., 2007). As Schizotypal Personality Disorder tends to first appear in children and adolescences, there is a good chance for SPD going into remission if situations are changed. Children and adolescents with Schizotypal Personality Disorder were found to improve when they were taken out of a negative environment and experienced positive achievement experiences and positive interpersonal relationships (Chemerinski, et al., 2013). Additionally, marriage and other positive social circumstance and role changes can also cause SPD to enter remissions (Raine, 2006).…

While the word happy may impact “normal” people significantly, psychopaths see it as any other word. Research has also proven psychopaths to be inconsistent and often contradict themselves when they speak. Hare’s (1999) study discovered Ted Bundy, for instance, when asked about his usage of cocaine, he stated he had never used the drug, but also answered he might have tried it once and may have snorted a little bit (p. 126). Overall, psychopathy and antisocial personality disorder differ in their diagnosis and each are composed of different traits and behavior. As stated above, psychopathy constitutes of socially deviant behaviors and personality traits, and antisocial personality disorder, on the other hand, consists of both criminal and antisocial behavior.…

Another situation where Katniss changed, was the belief she had that the twelfth district, along with her, were the victims who suffered the most. As shown in the book, Panem is governed by a controller, dominant, oppressive and tyrannical dictatorship that is the Capitol. One of the reasons why people in her district could be punished was for possessing weapons because the Capitol could not risk having another rebellion. She was aware of that, and although her father was very good at making weapons, he could not sell them; “My father could have made good money selling them, but if the officials found out he would have been publicly executed for inciting a rebellion” (5). It can clearly be seen that despite the young age of Katniss when her…
