2.0 Current Issues
The three current issues that identified in the transformation of the P&R Chemicals into an E-business are the security, order fulfilment, and process integration.
2.1 Security
Security is a major concern in the e-business environment; which include not just the transactional security aspect, but also involving the protection of identification, communication, and trading information took place in the P&R Chemicals business process (Jotwani & Dutta, 2016). From the transactional aspect, a security-breaching could result in serious financial losses, for instead, the case of the Bangladesh Central Bank security breach, which cost the national bank more than $80 million (Singh, 2016). The company also need to consider the optimisation of delivery speed, delivery reliability, and their supply chain design using the E-business (Nguyen, et al., 2016). Other factors, such as the ordering and logistics costs, capacity, and possible conflicts of priority in the fulfilment should be address using the E-business system (Kumar, et al., 2016). Failure in fulfilling the order will result in inefficiency in the supply chain and increasing cost (Li, et al., 2016). This will also seriously affecting the service quality and brand reputation of the P&R Chemicals (Li, et al., 2013). Thus, the P&R Chemicals need to address the possible issues in the order fulfilment process and finding solution to anticipate these issues using the intelligence …show more content…
The management need to take progressive steps to implement changes and making sure that everyone is well communicate along the change process. The success of the changes are highly depends on the work engagement and adaptively of the employees (Petrou, et al., 2016). Employees should be prepare with necessary skills and competencies to carry out their new roles using the intelligence technologies and mutually supportive disciplines should be enhance to ensure successful implementation (Hornstein, 2015). A proper tools and initiatives should be in place to assist employees to anticipate changes, besides just management supports (Lozano, et al., 2015).
