In this article I will be talking about organisational structures and I will create two organisational charts for two businesses (ASDA and Oxfam).

Organisational chart:
An organisational chart is a diagram that shows the structure of a business or organisation. Also sows the different departments and sectors in a business/organisation. They can organise the business as well.

Organisational structure:
An organisational structure is a diagram that shows the hierarchy of the entire business/organisation. It is separated into layers, the higher in the business your role is the more control you would have. Also at the top is the chairman. Functional structure:
A functional structure is when the business is separated into different sections focused on the functions when managing. This lets the business to improve the

Customer structure:
The customer structure is the target audience of the business and their characteristics and it is also that the business deals with them and if they and if they have any other complaints. Geographical structure:
The geographical structure is the location of the stores so they may be in a high priced neighbourhood so they will sell their products at a high price.

Hierarchical structure:
A hierarchical structure refers to the data being arranged in way so that it has several levels. It’s a very tall structure so it has a lot of levels on the organisational chart.

Flat structure:
A flat structure means that the business has fewer levels of authority than hierarchical structure and employees only answer to a few managers.

Functional areas of ASDA The finance department keeps all the information about financial activities such as sales made by the business. The finance department also additionally provides information for managers to help their decision
