“Elizabeth? Tell Aunt Petunia I’m getting up.” He mumbled before sitting up and fully waking up.
“I don’t think Aunt Petunia is even up.” I say with a small laugh while opening the window to let the owl in.
The owl swooped in with a newspaper clutched in it’s beak. The owl dropped the newspaper on Hagrid then attacked Hagrid’s coat that laid on the floor. Harry tried shooing the owl away and I laughed.
“Pay ‘em.” Hagrid mumbled as I walked over to the owl.
I kneeled in front of the owl and held my hand out calmly. The owl looked at my hand for a moment before biting my index finger slightly …show more content…
“Five Knuts.” Hagrid said.
“Knuts?” Harry asked while looking at the Wizard Coins.
“Yes. The small bronze ones are Knuts.” I say while petting the owl.
Harry nodded and counted them out. As I stroked the owl’s back Harry slipped the Knuts into the small pouch on the owl’s leg. With one more pet, the owl flew out the window, leaving Harry and I looking after it.
“Hagrid. Get up! We have to go get Harry his school things, as well as mine.” I say while taking the paper off of Hagrid before it hit the floor.
I looked at the front of the paper, quickly skimming through the words before handing it to Hagrid. I then looked over at Harry and saw him looking down at the money.
“I haven’t got any money Hagrid. Last night Uncle Vernon said that he wouldn’t pay for me to go to school to learn magic.” Harry said worriedly.

Harry and I climbed in as well. Hagrid asked Harry and I if we would say anything about him using magic to get to the shore faster once we got to Hogwarts. Harry and I both agreed not to and Hagrid used his umbrella to make the boat speed off towards shore. As we sat, Hagrid started reading the Daily Prophet, Hagrid said something about the Ministry of Magic, then they both started talking about the Ministry until the boat bumped lightly into the harbor wall.
A train ride, more questions, and some trouble at the ticket barrier later, we were walking up a broken-down escalator leading up to a bustling road lined with shops. After walking for awhile Hagrid pointed out the Leaky Cauldron to Harry and I.
We walked into the Leaky Cauldron, only seeing a few small groups of witches and wizards, and made our way up to the bartender.
“The usual?” The bartender asked Hagrid.
“No. Can’t Tom, on Hogwarts business.” Hagrid replied gesturing to Harry and
