Overprotection In Raising Children

Growing up as a child and even now as an adolescent I’ve always felt like I was always taken care of by my parents and felt protected, but was the protection too much? Every parent has their own way of parenting, some laid back and easy going, and some overly protective which was definitely the route my parents decided to raise me. Although being protected is very important to me and as is too many other children, over protective parenting is also shown to increase child anxiety and child behavior problems and that is something that I would change when I raise my children (Gere, Villabo, Torgersen, & Kendall, 2012).

Overprotection in raising your children is an authoritarian parenting style used parents. This is when parents are demanding,
