Have you ever thought of how much money a professional athlete makes? The average NBA player makes $5.15 million and the president of the United States only makes $400,000. The player in the NBA makes the president of the United States look like he gets paid almost nothing. The money theses athletes are getting could be used for better things. It is ludicrous that this player is getting paid more than double what the President of the United State of America per year for much less work and stress than what the president has to endure. Typically, the lowest paid player on any professional sports team does not receive any playing time. It is astonishing that one can sit on a bench and collect more money than the man that has one of the most stressful jobs in the entire world. The professional athletes receiving 19 million dollars to swing a bat at a ball or run a ball up a field are making more per game than the average American household makes in an entire decade. Also many athletes do not use their impressive income to make a positive difference within the United States instead they typically turn to living a high profile lifestyle that consists of lavish parties, expensive drugs, and excessive amounts of alcohol. Unfortunately, a lot of young children to young adults idiolize these professional athletes and look to them as their role models but as they grow and mature they find out the truth.
