Overhand Float Serve Research Paper

Improved Essays
I chose a standing overhand float serve in volleyball mainly because volleyball is my favorite sport and the serve is what starts the whole game. I chose myself as the amateur for the purpose of improving my technique and to be able to teach others. I play on the women’s club team here at Edinboro so we get a select few of girls who don’t really have much experience, but hoping to learn. I would like to be able to help teach them the correct technique to get the ball over the net so they can play and be apart of our team. I chose Misty May Treanor as my professional athlete because she is one of the best volleyball players in the United States. She is a great role model and well rounded athlete to look for proper technique in the float serve.

    1) At the second track meet of the season the sprint track coach decides to mix things up to see how a few runners would do in different events. He put a girl in the 3,000-meter run instead of her normal sprint 100. The action of running has not changed, however the distance she would be running increased dramatically.…

Thus far, I have acquired the skills of passing the ball, serving overhand, and setting the ball. Unfortunately, I failed to attend the first practice. As a result, I do not know how to properly serve underhand. Practice is every Friday night from six o’clock until six forty-five at the Anderson Farm Park. I relish a game we played in which a person serves the ball to the other side of the net and attempts to hit another player with the ball.…

I've learned about them through many other individuals that were involved in her success, who praised her for not just her athletic ability, but also leadership. With her name written on the big board with all of the other inductees, in front of the tiger gym it allows me to see almost every day what hard work can help you achieve. This causes me to strive to be on that same board as her in my foreseeable future. With her humbleness, she has taught many, including me that the team, and winning is first before yourself, that success is earned not given and that you aren't born gifted, but is something you have to work for. Just like her, other respected women in Biddeford worked for what they wanted with years of practice, not expecting anything will magically get them what they…
