A father from Mount Washington learned that dust from his house was full of lead and that unwittingly he had been bringing home lead from his job, in his hair and clothes. Unfortunately, his daughter and son appeared to have sicknesses, which included high fevers that sent them both to “Cinncinati Children’s Hospital Medical Center”. The father was exposed to extreme conditions in his job, because there were no safety procedures taken by the company he was working for. Employees did not have changing clothes and wore regular clothing. In addition to this, the father and other workers who wore respiratory devices were not trained properly on how to use them. The father whose named is Harrell, went home everyday after his eight hour shift to hug and cuddle with his children, without being aware of the consequences lead will have in his children. Sadly, lead is poison for all individual ages. Lead affected his children development nervous system, which created behavioral problems and lower academic performance. Both children now have behavioral problems. Surprisingly, the news were exposed as a national alarm. It’s alarming to learn that some companies do not care for their employees safety, for this reason it is very important that people are informed about their companies before starting to work with them.
