Outside of academics, I have overcome my adversities by doing pageants and modeling. As a little girl, I would watch America’s Next Top Model and dream about being a supermodel. I wanted to strut down the runway with the lights beaming in my face and the crowd cheering me on. I dreamed of being the rising starlet in the modeling industry that every agency wanted to sign and every photographer wanted to shoot with. However, I struggled with being shy, but my mother, on the other hand, believed in my ability to shine. Furthermore, she took me on auditions and signed me up for pageants.
