Your answers should be about one page in length. /10 The film shows this as many of the heterosexual, homophobic mine workers had extreme prejudges about the LGBT community and their support group, but once they got to know the supporters and not judging the LGBT support workers based on their sexuality, the miners realized they should work together to create a strong solidarity bond. Eventually their husbands and the support group of gay and lesbians from London join in the song. This was seen as a powerful message of solidarity and fighting for the rights of the workers. As mentioned in lecture the term “bread and roses”, means that people need basic survival things in their lives such as food and shelter, but we also need things such as joy and happiness or equality to add meaning and beauty to life. The film dives into a deeper insight of the origins of the term as in the song it expresses the need for the people and workers to rise up and stand together in order to fight for not only money for food or better wages, but also to fight for freedom, solidarity and happiness. It is an extremely power part in the film as I found it to be the turning point where the two different groups realize they need to come together as a unit and together fight and push for not only their survival needs but for social needs as
