Have you ever thought about what could stop you from graduating? Are these obstacles within your control? Do you have a plan if these complications got in your way? There are many obstacles that can stop a college student from graduating. A few are not within their power, so to the ones that are they need a backup plan. When walking onto a college campus, every freshman knows that a multitude of challenges lay ahead: making new friends, pay off loans, and balancing school and work. Though these are all obstacles, I believe biggest challenge is being prepared for college. Typically, the students with supportive parents, motivation, and career goals are going to be ready for all that college can throw at them. There are a number of reasons why students do not attend college but here is the reality that many will only begrudgingly admit: there are genuine obstacles, dire circumstances that prevent a student from continuing their education, and then there are excuses; knee-jerk responses that students regurgitate when questioned about their future. While it is easy to extend sympathy for those students with the most uncommon challenges, it is more difficult to identify with the students who allow a flimsy excuse to stand in the way of the golden gate. Choosing to attend college has a much greater outlook on a student's life than choosing not to attend college. Their horizon for getting a job in the field they want becomes very difficult. They have tons of new factories out now and most of the kids that go to…
