This books topic is relevant to my life because of how the boys bond during their journey and how they work together to overcome obstacles. Though in my life the situation is not as extreme because I have a nice home, food and other commodities that they didn’t have, I have been lucky enough to bond with people like they did. I dance. I have since I was six or seven. And I’ve found that when you dance with people you really bond because you rely so much on each other just like how those boys relied on each other. When you are getting ready for a dance performance you have to have a ridiculous amount of stuff so it more likely that you forget something than you don’t. Whether you're just missing make-up or if you forgot your tights or leotard …show more content…
And, just like when those boys row, you have to be perfectly in sync because if you're not the whole dance falls apart. If just one person steps too late or the wrong way everyone else can be thrown off. But unlike in rowing if someone does make a mistake you can sometimes recover so it's slightly less drastic. To continue, dancing, like rowing, is both a mental and physical activity. Not only can it be very strenuous on your body without breaks but you also have to remember your steps and be aware of your fellow dancers around you and if something goes wrong you have to think on the fly of how to fix it. Also a big part of the book is how the boys bond over their rowing experience. When you dance you share all these crazy experiences with people and you kind of become one big family. You can reminisce over great performances or laugh at ridiculous mishaps it's a really phenomenal feeling to have all of these wonderful people around you. Sometimes you have that day when you question if you want to keep dancing but you just have to keep slogging through those times in order to succeed because if you don’t you’ll regret
