Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi writes in “Happiness Revisited” that the best moments in a person’s life are the ones in which they push themselves to accomplish something that poses a challenge. Csikszentmihalyi insists that happiness does not simply happen, but rather, it must be created by each individual by setting goals that are neither too simple nor difficult to achieve. As Csikszentmihalyi stated, "Happiness is not something that happens. It is not the result of good fortune or random chance…But rather, on how we interpret them” (608).…

The star of LocoCycle is I.R.I.S, a sentient motorcycle that looks like it is from the Knight Rider era of television shows. IRIS is supposed to serve as a tool for an unscrupulous defense contractor, but after being struck by lightning she decides to attend a freedom rally in Scottsburg, Indiana instead. Pablo, her unfortunate mechanic, gets his pants caught in her chassis so he is unwillingly dragged along for the ride. LocoCycle is clearly inspired by cheesy B movies so don't expect the plot to make too much sense. Trying to figure out how a human being can survive being used as a melee weapon by a motorcycle with martial arts abilities will just lead to a headache.…

When I sense I may fail at something, I make an attempt anyways. This helps me break away from the trap of the fixed mindset and into the more productive world of the growth mindset. When I try even though I think I will fail, and end up succeeding, it is a pleasant surprise that inspires me to keep trying. For example, I would often tell myself that I was horrible at math in high school. Based on my past low scores, I assumed my math skills were “fixed” and could not improve.…

As long as you remember to never give up on your dreams, you can shoot above and beyond anything imaginable.…

This quote helps me prove the argument that being successful and happy are two very different things. Success it is part of your goal that you are trying to get with a lot of efforts, for example a good job where you will get enough money. However you may not be happy with this type of job even you have enough income from it. In our world, there are few people who have reached success and happiness, because it needs a lot of effort and characteristics.…

Franklin D. Roosevelt said, "Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort." He implied that doing what you love, whatever it may be, will bring you happiness. Similarly, the three essays, The Power and Mystery of Naming Things by Eve Ensler, Creative Solutions to Life's Challenges by Frank X Walker, and Happy Talk by Oscar Hammerstein articulate how to be happy. Through these three authors, I learned that openness, creativity, and positivity can lead to happiness. Talking about one's problems is the most terrifying work.…
