Overcoming Obstacles That Changed My Life

The adolescent years have never been easy for anyone; most adolescents are still figuring out which way is up. Between work, school and the seemingly impossible obstacles that life hurls at us some days can seem insurmountable, but within the short amount of time that I have spent on this earth I have adopted a philosophy that has sculpted me into the person I am today. It is the philosophy that we are only limited by the obstacles that we deny ourselves to overcome-and that any obstacle worth overcoming requires a monumental amount of determination.
The escapade that taught me this life lesson all started at the arrogant age of thirteen. I began a journey down a road that I could never have possibly imagined traveling on. The road signs read “post concussion syndrome”, but in my youthful

It has taken monumental amounts of determination, but I have begun pushing through each day no matter how bad my vision or headaches get. Through it all I have managed to graduate from high school with a 3.5 GPA and enroll in courses at Sierra College. I have started getting organized and have begun writing down everything that I am responsible for so that I will not forget my responsibilities. I have started working two part time jobs one of which is a night shift taking care of elderly people so they can enjoy their lives in the comfort of their own homes. The other is repairing garage doors and performing labor work. Although every day is still a struggle I am determined to make the symptoms improve and have begun going to rehabilitative Neurofeedback sessions to reactivate the damaged synapses in my brain. Even when life has seems so out of control I have learned that becoming determined to buckle down and work hard each day will pave the way to
