Overcoming Obstacles That Changed My Life

Throughout my life there have been many obstacles that stop me from improving myself, or make learning harder, but eventually with time I am able to get over them; however there has been one obstacle that I have not been able to overcome directly, but instead I have adjusted to it. This obstacle has affected who I am and how I think. None the less I also like to see this obstacle as something that has helped me grow in life. My biggest obstacle is not something tragic, but I like to see it as a rather common obstacle that many teens in the United States face. My biggest obstacle would be that I cannot spend much time with both of my parents due to their busy work schedules; it is as if I am living on my own.
I am a seventeen year old girl who lives with both of my parents. Yet, both of my parents work long shifts for low paying jobs and get home late at night. Most of the times if not always when I get home from school the house is alone. My parents do not have much time to pay attention to what I do, but they do their best to help me if it is within their reach. This has

I eventually taught myself how to draw and sew. I sometimes had wished that my mom could have made me or my dolls some clothing by hand; I gave up the idea and made my doll clothing myself because I realized that my parents were too busy working for the family’s sake that they would not have the time to spend it on sewing dress for a doll. Thus, I decided to do it for myself. I was also jealous of the things parents did for their kids. Many parents would make and still make their children special handmade lunches from family recipes. Sometimes the kids would share with their friends and their friends would praise the other persons’ parents’ hard work.
