Overcoming Obstacles Of Becoming A Pharmacist

I’m an eighteen-year-old Montgomery College student aspiring to be a pharmacist. I’ve went through many obstacles in my life during high school to get to the point that I find myself in now. Helping my grandpa after an accident, changing my lifestyle for the better, and setting goals for the future, are some of the obstacles I want to discuss. These obstacles that I had to overcome have helped shape me into a mature and responsible man. In my sophomore year of high school, my grandpa got into a car accident and was bed ridden. It was up to me and my mother to nurse him back to health before and after his surgery. I spent most of my days after school getting his food ready before I started making mine. I held him tightly as we moved down to the bathroom which took much longer than it should. Or when we had to think of ways to get him more involved in family vacations and the compromises that had to be made. It made me feel proud to stand up to the world and tell everyone that I had the opportunity to help someone I loved. I sat down most nights and was appreciative of …show more content…
My time in the classroom consisted of me day dreaming and sleeping since I couldn’t gather enough energy to even pay attention for a full five minutes. My grades and passion for school were slipping early on in my high school career. As time went on I knew things had to change. I started to get off my phone and keep it away from my reach so I don’t get attached to it during the night. I told my parents to warn me 10 minutes before my bed time to ensure I’m in bed at the same time every night. To this day I'm not a morning person but I did get better in coping with the idea of waking up when I don’t want to.
