Obstacles are things that impedes or prevents the implementation of continuous improvement tools. The definition of life is having obstacles, it is essential to overcome obstacles because it achieves success, helps us focus on what’s important and personal growth. There is much in literature, film and in reality that tells us overcoming obstacles is a possibility. Michael Oher the main character in the movie The Blind Side faced many challenges and obstacles as he was growing up. He had a rough past and managed to survive. Additionally an obstacle I faced was the Fort Mcmurray wildfire. In the book ‘Hunger Games’ the character Katniss as well faced numerous obstacles from before the games to after the games. He was a poor black uneducated teenager who grew up in foster families, lived on the streets and never knew what it was like to have proper clothing, and enough food to eat. He did not show any emotions at the beginning of the film due to the tough area he grew up in. Showing emotions was a weakness. Michael is seen one night by the Tuohy family who are going home from their sons play, and is invited by Leigh Anne (the mother) to sleep in their house for the night. Leigh and Sean allow Michael to spend more than one night in their home, clothe him, give him food, take care of his education, and buy him a bed all for himself. Eventually they decide to become Michael’s legal guardians, which completely changes Michael’s life, and theirs, forever. Michael found school very difficult because he could not read and risked losing a scholarship to university since he did not have an high enough GPA. Big Mike showed courage, growth, determination, strength, and perseverance when conquering his obstacles which led to success. He had faith in himself, the ability to trust others, ambition to succeed, decision to not end up on the streets, and his achieved his
