My coaches had prepared me and now it was time to showcase what I could do. After the regular season, I finished with a record of 24-8 fighting through a constant rib injury which occurred earlier in the season. With the start of the post season it was now time for the District 17 Tournament. The tournament brackets were released and I was the third seed. I had my sights on winning this tournament and was already looking towards the finals not worrying about who I had to beat to get there. My first opponent was against Hunterdon Central, I had won earlier in the season, but things quickly went downhill. Before I knew it, I was losing by four points in the last period of the match. I had worked so hard for this moment and now I had lost my first match of the tournament putting an early end to my junior season. Approaching freshman volleyball season, the upperclassman spoke highly of the importance of overpowering TC West. As a ninth grader, I had the mindset that I would be playing for the freshmen team. I didn't think it really mattered what the outcome of the game would be, since we were only ninth graders.…
