Overcoming Obstacles In High School

Improved Essays
I went through something hard last semester, I feel really dumb about it because it was my fault. I’m pretty sure a high number of high school students went through the same thing or are going through the same obstacle I did. The obstacle that I had to go through was raising my grades before the first semester ended with limited time. People who have been through the same thing know how hard it is, I struggled a lot. The obstacle I faced fit into my definition of an obstacle because getting low grades, in school, and getting more than adequate is something difficult and it happens to almost everyone. Sadly, It happened to me, I had very good grades and unfortunately, I stopped worrying. I thought, I’m good. I have all hundred percent grades in my classes. That was an enormous mistake because a …show more content…
I got really lucky because my mom wanted to see my grades, so I just kept on making excuses until I got my grades up. My mom would have gotten so mad conversely, I would have gotten grounded for a very long time. I hate being grounded, it's just the worst. I eventually accomplished my goal. The best part is that, I passed the semester with those grades. It wasn't easy at all, that was one of my hardest obstacles because I had to work so hard to get my grades up. Some advice that I’d give to someone who is going through the same is to always do every single assignment that your teachers assigns. You should finish all your missing assignments, you won’t get full credit but that’s better than receiving a zero. Ask the teacher if there’s any extra credit you could do, that’s helpful towards your grade. Always pay attention to what the teacher is saying because the teacher could have said important information and you could have not have been paying attention. So I don’t recommend talking to your friends while the teacher is talking because you’re getting distracted and so is your

The star of LocoCycle is I.R.I.S, a sentient motorcycle that looks like it is from the Knight Rider era of television shows. IRIS is supposed to serve as a tool for an unscrupulous defense contractor, but after being struck by lightning she decides to attend a freedom rally in Scottsburg, Indiana instead. Pablo, her unfortunate mechanic, gets his pants caught in her chassis so he is unwillingly dragged along for the ride. LocoCycle is clearly inspired by cheesy B movies so don't expect the plot to make too much sense. Trying to figure out how a human being can survive being used as a melee weapon by a motorcycle with martial arts abilities will just lead to a headache.…

This was due to the fact that after I had surgery, I was laid up in bed for almost four weeks. Throughout that four weeks, where I could hardly keep my eyes open long enough to watch a 30 minute television show, there was no way I could get any homework or studying done. So when I finally returned to school, I had a lot of catching up to do. I either stayed after school or went in early for about a month straight, finished all my missing work within two weeks, and had all my quizzes and tests made up by the time the semester was over. I finished that semester of my sophomore year, with what I considered, unbelievable grades.…

Most movies portray high school students as one dimensional. They include peppy cheerleaders and dumb jocks whose lives seem perfect. Nerds eat by the dumpsters and get picked on by the school's bully. Although sometimes these characters exist, everyone has some unique quality that few others know about. Throughout my life, I’ve had to deal with multiple obstacles such as raising my little sister as my own, deciding which high school to attend, and learning how to adjust to my dual enrollment course.…
