This experience was the worst & most embarrassing thing that could ever happen to me however , it was also a good thing because after this situation I became an whole new person. This situation affected me in a good way & a bad way after all.

Out of all the failures I had in my life the first one that comes to my head was when I started 9th grade at Sankofa Freedom Academy Charter School. In the second semester I became a whole new student I left all my bad habits behind and I started to improve on the things I needed to work on.I started to do my homework my grades and test scores were improving. Also me doing my homework made me a better student because I knew what was going on in class discussions and was able to participate without being embarrassed. What I also changed was Instead of me going straight to practice I started to make sure I had all my school work and homework done before going to practice. If I didn't have any of school work done I forced myself to get it done because I really never had anyone yelling about me getting my school work done. I really didn't have a choice but to get my work done because I couldn't participate in any sports with failing grades. Final habit that I left behind me was playing around in class. I started to take class more serious instead of sitting next to my friends I sat next to kids I don't usually speak to. That made it easier for me to focus during class and get all my work done each class period. I think me changing my behavior was the best choice for me because I felt like I was a whole new student at the end of the second

Long, wide roads, small houses, and steel fences were my view as I walked into an unfamiliar building called Thomas Jefferson Middle School. I did not know anything about the culture or the language; a huge chill came over me, which I have never felt before. I felt goose bumps as I first walked in the building. The building was old and was not well cared for. The colors of the walls were fading and the elevators made the sound of a dying animal when it moved.…

The biggest change I have made this semester is taking on a creator mindset/attitude. You could ask anyone that knows me and they would say I have a pessimistic attitude. I would always joke and say I’m a pessimist because I’m either right or I’m pleasantly surprised. Simple having the negative thoughts floating around in my head constantly has certainly been a dead weight holding me down.…

Recount an incident or time when you experienced failure. How did it affect you, and what lessons did you learn? I would say that I learned the most about what it really means to have time management after this semester. Entering my first semester of college I had blind faith in the University, and myself because I believe everything would just work out and I would pass because it was meant to be. However, fate and hope are no the things to help you life as a new college student. The drive to wake up, attend class, finish homework, and accept the new responsibility that had been placed in my novice hands diminished greatly as the non-academic temptations became to creep in my head. I must be honest with you and let you know that I did cave and willingly participate in the sweet release of social experiences.…
