McKinnon starts off by singing, “Started out in the spring of 2003 / Never went to school, nobody talked to me / Except to tell me all the things I couldn’t do /

The chorus echoes the theme of the song: “So here I am, I’m right back at it again / Just like I’ve always said, if you're too cool for school / You ain’t here to make no friends.” McKinnon knows that even though he struggles with his musicianship, he’ll always go “right back at it again”, constantly doing what he loves no matter what challenges he faces to make it in the music industry. My high school marching band has had to face many challenges due to our lack of funding and small number of students. We work just as hard as larger, more affluent bands, but we don’t get the same reward because we just don’t have enough money or enough people to impress the judges. This past season, we finally received a Superior rating and performed at state competition. It took many seasons of hard work without reward, hours upon hours of long practices, and every ounce of strength we had to achieve this goal. Everyone in my marching band knows what it means to go “right back at it again” and keep working throughout

Regardless of the person, adversity is an inevitable struggle to face and can be dealt with in more ways than one. William J. Clinton once famously stated, “If you live long enough, you’ll make mistakes. But if you learn from them, you’ll be a better person. Nevertheless, the differences between Rome and Han China are worth as much notice as the similarities. The Roman Empire was linguistically and culturally more diverse than China. In China there was only one written language; people in the Roman Empire still wrote in Greek and several other languages, and people in the eastern Mediterranean could claim more ancient civilizations. China did not have comparable cultural rivals. Politically the dynastic principle was stronger in China than in Rome.…

One of the song lyrics is “And know if you're out there, I'll find you somehow, I want that feeling back again” this song lyric is song several times and displays how much this person wants to relive that time before getting old and having to remember how amazing it was being a kid. This connects to my 8th grade year because I had to take more responsibility like spending more time on homework and studying for tests. I wish sometimes I could just go back to preschool where is was so easy and we never did anything except take naps and eat food. Middle school and high school can get stressful, in this song it says “Let's shut our eyes and pretend that maybe once again we could be young and innocent” Cause when you're in elementary school you don't…

I can be biased in my own stories and conclude that I have made it through the toughest times anyone could ever experience, but I know that’s far from true. I feel fortunate enough to say that I have not been through the worst, yet the experiences I have encountered over time with overcoming adversity has immensely impacted who I am and how I view the world. Just this fall of my junior year, I made a verbal commitment to play hockey for the Colgate University Raiders. To me, this is one of my greatest achievements in life, not just because it was my top school for D1 hockey, but because of the journey along the way that taught me to keep hope, an open mind, and an open heart. My sophomore year, I didn’t know a thing about Colgate; in fact,…

Varying from philosophers to physiocrats, the Enlightenment Period was a time of innovation and brilliance, providing us numerous foundations to examine and critique. With that said, one very successful figure of the Enlightenment Period, Thomas Hobbes, was an English man who unlike most people, deeply concerned for a better future with fewer political issues and societal issues.
