My high school marching band has had to face many challenges due to our lack of funding and small number of students. We work just as hard as larger, more affluent bands, but we don’t get the same reward because we just don’t have enough money or enough people to impress the judges. This past season, we finally received a Superior rating and performed at state competition. It took many seasons of hard work without reward, hours upon hours of long practices, and every ounce of strength we had to achieve this goal.
