The most prominent of these situations is the people that overcome their adversity at their highest point of difficulty. The Roman poet Horace states that “Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents which in prosperous circumstances would have lain dormant.” Horace implies that those who overcome adversity are more successful than someone that is given something all their life would be. Adversity is, if not, one of the most crucial factors in becoming a successful human being.…

I feel fortunate enough to say that I have not been through the worst, yet the experiences I have encountered over time with overcoming adversity has immensely impacted who I am and how I view the world. My sophomore year, I didn’t know a thing about Colgate; in fact,…

Everyone has faced a certain point in their lives where adversity has led their aptitudes out. Adversity affects people in different ways whether physically, mentally, or financially. In the quote by Horace, a roman poet, adversity is viewed as hardships that people overcome every day in their lives that make them who they are today. Although adversity can make people endure, adversities develop the person to become prosperous and bloom vigorous and effulgent like a rose. From personal experience and on views on successful people, I agree with Horace verbal expression because I believe that everything one surmounts in life makes them prosper and strive in everything they do.…
