In text one, after the danger, the speaker learnt a lot from the risk and knew how to deal with next time. The quote "keep this in mind the next time you are confronted with adversity" demonstrates the speaker kept the warning in mind by experiencing the danger. People always remember the pain they have experiencing the danger . People always remember the pain they have experienced and try to prevent from meeting the same thing again. This is an example of preventing risk happening again. It is same in the second text. Sally changed her mind of the attitude to being a single mother because she wanted to stop the same experience happening to her again. The quotes "Sally smiles broadly at her neighbors" illustrate she began to be amiable to her neighbor, these tolerant Canadians. This experience tells that being confident to self and welcoming t others can stop judgement. Therefore, remembering the pain you experience and changing attitude can prevent the same tragedy happens
