The definition of Climate is temperature and weather over a long period. Climate change is change in climate over a long period of time. Over time climate change is naturally occurring, however humans are affecting the rate of change. Burning fossil fuels releases excess carbon into the atmosphere which retains heat from the sun and warms the earth.
