Throughout your modifications of the video game Laura Croft, one thing has always stayed the same. This is the over sexualizaition of the main character, Laura Croft. This is consistent throughout all of her games. She wears very little clothing, along with large lips and her butt and chest are also overly embellished. The features I stated are also accented significantly as if to appeal toward a particular sex. She is fighting bad guys in unrealistic clothing while managing to look sexy for the desired audience. This shows that Video games franchises like ‘Tomb Raider’ are favorable by the male audiences due to the characters being so overly sexualized which grab their attention of these thirsty men. There are men out there that would spend their cash on games because ‘there 's a really hot chick in it’’. In the end sex does sell, most consumers would be attracted to video games with these sort of features. There is no denying that nearly every aspect of her design is tremendously sexualized. At the same time, her characterization as a smart, capable, and confident woman is something that is not typically seen in video games and should not be overlooked. Even though there are glaring issues with how Bayonetta is presented to the player (the game's camera angles practically force you to sexualize her), Bayonetta herself is a female character in a position of power, and it is perfectly okay for women to identify with her and to draw inspiration from her. However, it is not okay to completely ignore the issues surrounding how Bayonetta was created and who she was initially created…
