Outstanding Student Reflection Essay

Thank you for giving me the chance to submit my paper for the Outstanding Teacher Award, and for giving each amazing teacher submitted an opportunity to receive such an honorary title. I would like for you to acknowledge my former school guidance counselor, Mrs. L. As a side note, I would like to refer to my teacher as simply Mrs. L for personal and respectful reasonings. In further paragraphs, I will state my reasonings and stories behind why I believe she should receive this award. Firstly, I should address how I first came into contact with Mrs. L. My first time having her as a school guidance counselor started in kindergarten when I first started going to elementary school. I had her assigned to me from K-5th grade and 6-8th grade

Free Write. As always, I am really excited to continue the ARSC400 class from last semester. I am quite happy to see that there is a reduction of discussion on the syllabus but I am quite upset as it motivates me to do my reading. Actually, I am still in the most challenging academic course I have taken to date, AP United States History (APUSH). APUSH has been difficult for me due to the fact that I had very little knowledge of US history preceding my enrollment in the class. Furthermore, prior to this class I had never really had to study extensively to maintain high marks. APUSH has been different. Having little knowledge of this material, I have had to spend much more time studying.…

Portfolio reviewers: My pre-ECU 2201 experience was my English 1100 course. While taking this class online, I learned how to make an interesting essay. Though this class didn 't require much research, it taught me how to write an interesting essay. Most of the time the professor gave us the decision to write whatever we wanted to write on. There might been some times where he wanted us to write a specific topic, but still had the chance to write whatever we wanted within the topic.…

Throughout high school, I have been involved in many activities. I started off with the STEM academy in my high school. In the STEM academy, we held special events that teach people, especially kids, about new experiments and science-related careers. I helped out the STEM academy by explaining people about the experiments, the purpose behind the experiments and cleaned or organized lab equipment. I was a part of the STEM academy for approximately three years in high school and I really enjoyed it because I knew I could make a difference in my community.…

For my Teacher Appreciation Day assignment, I chose you to write this letter to. I think that you deserve an act of kindness because you should be given kindness back. You are generous with collecting homework assignments, and you genuinely care for your students’ learning experiences. You prepare us for tests as best as you can and provide extra credit options to get our grades higher. We get to take extra test time on your own time; you sacrifice your own free time, just so we can finish a question or two.…

Like most people, the third grade was a highly intense time. This was the period in which you had to decipher between wanting to learn how to multiply or learn how to divide first. Or for me the most difficult decision may have been choosing between kickball and tetherball during recess. But I had an issue of seeing adults doing things and if it was simple I would do them too. For me as a child I had what many considered an old sold.…

Every year, around April, my school gives out an award called Top 100. This academic award is given to the top twenty-five students of each class. Ever since my freshman year I have received this award. Some believe that most of the people that are Top 100 do not deserve it because the difficulty of their classes is not taken into accountability. Others believe the reward is just irrelevant, but this award is very important to me because to me it exemplifies my hard work.…

How I plan to teach Culturally and Linguistically Diverse students, is to use what I have learned in EDU 305 as a guideline to apply what has been taught in class and use it for my students in the future. Ideally, I would like to teach at high school level in South Korea. I also find that helping CLD students who are learning English as their second language also fits for what I plan for the future. With high schoolers, some of the students that just came to America would not understand English well. When students starts to learn English around the ages of 15-18 years old, it can be frustrating and difficult for them.…

Upon my entry into English 1010-02, my first college writing class, I expected to breeze through the course with an easy-A and minimal effort after my successful completion of AP English 11 this past year. I began the year with the utmost confidence in my writing abilities, and believed that my skills were above par. It wasn’t until I received my score on the essay evaluation for my First-Week Essay- a measly five out of twenty- that I realized that this was not the case. At first, I was astonished that my seemingly exceptional writing skills had not earned me the A that I believed I deserved. However, as time went on I came to the realization that I had not put in nearly enough time or effort into the paper to receive more than a C at most.…

When it comes to Composition 1, I learned a lot. In the beginning I wanted to learn how to become a better and creative writer.
