Outstanding Educator Report

Decent Essays
In order to be an outstanding educator, I believe one needs to be attentive, respectful, flexible, and have a willingness to always be a student themselves.
An outstanding educator must always be attentive to what’s going on in his or her classroom, front to back and side to side. A healthy classroom environment should be safe, resourceful, and productive. Being aware of potential safety hazards is part being attentive. In a physical education setting, safety hazards arise all the time from walls, to polls, to mats, etc. Being able to spot these and/or move them before any activity is key. Outstanding educators also engage all students in each lesson, so they feel they are a part of the class.
Always being respectful of the students

Being a student at Queen’s University taught me that the opportunities we seek out teach us about our character and more importantly, about our passions in life; they help us to define our goals and will lead us to be successful. I have been fortunate to gain valuable experience as a Queen’s student, orphanage volunteer, and drop in center volunteer. My experiences shaped my understanding of teaching and learning processes as I learned the valuable qualities that are exhibited by successful educators that establish supportive learning environments for their students. While working in Romanian orphanages this past summer, I learned how each child presents their own challenges as they learn, and communicate differently. In a short time with a great deal of patience and dedication I learned enough of the language as I led games, bible studies, and helped children with conflict resolution.…

he purpose of NCLB was to narrow and perhaps even close the achievement gap in America. I feel it is a noble goal. Actually making it happen will take more than simply sanctioning school sites that have the compassion to invest their lives into reaching out to the economically disadvantaged in our nation by teaching at a Title I school. Dynamic and superior classroom instruction will make a big difference, but that alone will not significantly narrow let alone close the achievement gap. The gap is much, MUCH more complicated than what even the most gifted of teachers can control.…
