Outsourcing Canadian Workers Case Study

I believe that outsourcing the labour jobs from Canadian workers to the workers in Tanzania is an ethical decision for many reasons. I believe that what is deemed ethical or non-ethical is based on an individuals beliefs rather than laws that are set out by the government. Though something may be deemed illegal by law, one’s personal beliefs may say that it is ethical. Likewise, though a belief is not illegal, many people may deem it unethical. In this case, I feel that there are many reasons why outsourcing these jobs is an ethical decision for not only the company at hand but also the countries involved as well. The numbers involved do not lie either as for every Canadian that is being employed for $2500 a month, 50 Tanzanian employees can be hired for the same amount. Now if you value human life as being equal no matter where in the world you are, you come to the conclusion that you are provide more for the world by feeding more families over providing for greater earning salaries. Outsourcing the jobs into other markets of the world, even for cheaper labour, is not unethical for the fact that you have to look at the wages in each country and what is considered a living wage. In many countries where the standard of living is a lot less that in a developed country, the cost of living and provide the same amount to each family can be vastly different.
